Atlanta United vs. NY Red Bulls
Atlanta United Wins 2-1
Miranchuk With Goal and Assist
Atlanta Latinos Magazine – Winless in its last five, Atlanta United broke that skid, defeating a pesky New York Red Bulls team 2-1 Saturday night at the Benz.
After a scoreless first half, Alexey Miranchuk put Atlanta up 1-0 on a penalty kick in the 75’. It was his third goal of the season in only his eighth game.
Atlanta would add an insurance goal in the 97’. Tyler Wolff got behind the defense and found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper. And Wolff delivered, drilling home a goal past the diving goalkeeper. For Wolff, it was his first goal of the season. Assists were credited to Miranchuk and Daniel Rios.
Atlanta’ defense was solid throughout the night, holding New York scoreless for over 100 minutes. But the Red Bulls did dent the scoreboard in the last minute of the game, with Serge Ngoma earning the goal. It was his first of the season.
Atlanta plays its final regular season match on the road at Orlando on Saturday, October 19th.
