The K-pop superstars will play 79 shows across five continents, marking their first full group tour since going on hiatus in 2022.
WASHINGTON — BTS are officially back and kicking off their comeback with a massive world tour.
The global K-pop superstars announced plans Tuesday for a tour spanning 2026 and 2027, marking their first group venture since going on hiatus in 2022. The announcement comes not long after news that the group will release a new album on March 20.
The tour will feature 79 shows across 34 regions in Asia, North America, Europe, Latin America and Australia, making it the largest tour of BTS’ career. It will also be the highest number of tour dates and widest regional reach ever for a South Korean artist.
Production will include a 360-degree, in-the-round stage design, creating an immersive experience that places fans at the center of the show while maximizing venue capacity.
It all kicks off in April with multiple hometown concerts in Goyang, South Korea, followed by dates in Tokyo. The tour route includes major stops across the U.S., Europe, Latin America and Asia-Pacific, with additional cities in Japan and the Middle East expected to be announced. Some specific venues have not yet been announced.
The tour also marks the group’s full return following the completion of South Korea’s mandatory military service.
BTS tiered their enlistments over a four-year hiatus, giving ample time for its members to focus on solo projects while the group was on a break.
The seven members reunited last summer and have been teasing their comeback for months, confirming they began working on new music together in July 2025.
“Since it will be a group album, it will reflect each member’s thoughts and ideas,” they said in a statement. “We’re approaching the album with the same mindset we had when we first started.”
The 2026 album will mark their first since 2022’s anthology, “Proof,” their 2021 Japanese compilation album “BTS, the Best,” and their last studio album, “Be,” released in 2020.
