United’s Home Unbeaten Streak ends
Atlanta United scored the first goal. In the 19th minute, Josef Martinez was credited with a goal after his shot deflected off a Columbus defender and found the back of the net. It was Martinez’s 24th goal of the year and extended his consecutive games streak to 14th. Both Pity Martinez and Emerson Hyndman were credited with an assist.
From there on, it was all Columbus Crew. It scored the last three goals of the match, all in the second half, to earn the victory. Gyasi Zardes and Luis Diaz each earned a goal. The final goal of the match was an own goal scored in the 85th minute.
Atlanta returns to action on Wednesday night when it faces FC Cincinnati on the road.
