“Heated Rivalry” fans can soon pre-order new vinyl and CD editions featuring the show’s viral songs and original scores.
WASHINGTON — “Heated Rivalry” fans are getting new content before the second season even starts filming. This time it’s in a physical media — vinyl records and CDs.
Both items will be available for pre-order from Milan Records starting Thursday, March 26 at 12:01 a.m. ET. and Wednesday, March 25 at 9:01 p.m. PT. The price has not yet been announced, but Milan Records said stock is not limited.
There are two vinyl options: the “Montreal v. Boston Vinyl Edition” is a play on the fictional NHL teams in the show. The discs are colored like the fictional jerseys, complete with the last names and numbers of Canadian hockey player Shane Hollander and Russian hockey player Ilya Rozanov on the record. The second option is the “Icy Inferno Vinyl Edition” where the vinyl is transparent and clear.
The CD sets will include the same contents as the vinyl sets, but also add Peter Peter’s complete original score for the show.
A double-sided 12×24” poster, set of trading cards, inner gatefold spread and two-sided disc sleeves with imagery from the series, credits and liner notes from show creator Jacob Tierney also come alongside the album.
The album features viral songs like “mangetout” by Wet Leg, “I’ll Believe in Anything” by Wolf Parade, and “All the Things She Said” by t.A.T.u. and the edited version by Harrison, among other songs. Click here for the full list of songs on the album.
The items are expected to ship in mid-July after the preorder.
The massively successful Canadian Crave original series, which was also hosted on HBO in November for the United States, stars breakout actors Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie, who play Hollander and Rozanov, respectively.
The show went viral online for a variety of reasons, but mainly for its faithful adaptation of Rachel Reid’s popular “Game Changers” book series, which follows various romances between fictional pro hockey stars across six books.
Its popularity rocketed it to become HBO’s top-rated non-animated acquired series since its launch in 2020, according to Variety. It has rocketed Williams and Storrie’s careers, taking them from “Saturday Night Live!” to being Olympic torch bearers for the Winter Games.
