WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. — A couple in New York celebrated a remarkable milestone on Sunday. They’re approaching nearly 80 years of marriage, with both turning 100 this month, just one day apart.
George and Corrine Klein were honored Sunday during a gathering where friends and neighbors came together to recognize their longevity and enduring partnership.
They have been married for nearly eight decades — that milestone will arrive in September.
Corrine’s mother lived to be 102, and George’s grandfather was 103.
George and Corrine raised four sons. They have four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
During a birthday celebration over the weekend, the couple revealed their secret to a long life: “Yes dear, yes dear, yes dear,” George joked. Corrine quipped that her was: “I let him say ‘yes dear, yes dear.'”
