  1. Cool travel gadget, but clean-up presents challenges, particulary if you want to use it outside. The idea of hiking out into the wilderness, and then, in the middle of absolutely nowhere, having a fresh espresso sounds pretty great. Making your own fresh, perfect espresso while staying in some lousy hotel where the only coffee on offer is revolting also sounds pretty nice. And this little gadget delivers the goods. All you need, other than espresso, is a way to boil water. So any camp stove will do the trick in the outdoors and you can normally get hot water at any hotel that makes tea available. The actual process of making an espresso with this is not terribly complex. You add hot water into a little reservoir, then run it through the machine by pumping it a dozen times or so to get the insides hot. Then repeat the process with espresso added into it. The whole procedure takes less than 5 minutes and it is not at all hard to master. It is a little fiddly, but not excessively so. You just pump slowly until the water is used up. It even has a little…

  2. A great espresso! Firstly, I really enjoy my espressos. I have a Breville 870XL for my home brewing. However I was looking for a solution for the office and for travel. I have an Aeropress which works great, and makes a great cup of coffee. However, it can’t extract an espresso.I’ve been seeing the Nanopresso for awhile and finally pulled the trigger since the price is very reasonable.Physically the product is fantastic. Very solid with good seals. The ports filter has a metal screen which is great. It light and small enough to travel with. The little tote that comes with it is helpful. The process to make an espresso shot is really easy. Easy is always relative. If you want to make a great espresso with portable equipment, this is very easy. If you want easier, go to a coffee shop. The nanopresso, simply add the grinds, a little tamp, add water, assemble and pump. Out comes a great shot of espresso. You get the crema which can’t be achieved with the Aeropress…

  3. Great device There are several reasons why I only gave it four out of five stars. First of all it’s not really simple and easy to operate. Second, t takes work and is not super easy to clean. Third, You’re going to have to develop a technique. Fourth it’s bulky and you have to get the barista kit separately. Fifth, you still have to get a coffee grinder or have to purchase pre-ground coffee. The coarseness of the grind of the coffee is important. I would not say that the regular ground style of coffee for an electric maker is fine enough. Oh and you still have to get boiled and preferably filtered water right? When you factor in all of that, the price, and the time, 30 minutes or so, I only give it four out of five stars. At the same time there are several reasons why I did give it four! out of five stars. So after that large list above, why do I still give it four out of five stars? First it makes a mean cup of Joe baby! Second, it’s a very visceral experience, especially if…
