  1. Overpriced, but a solid addition to a research library. .I paid $7 for this a few years ago but apparently price has gone up now that colleges are using it as required reading. This book is fine, if you are specifically looking for the Black perspective on the Great Depression. It shouldn’t be your first stop for Depression research material, or even your fifth, but it is a good read for someone who is at a dissertation-level of research in the era or the civil rights movement.
