Jade Leaf – Organic Japanese Matcha Green Tea Powder – USDA Certified, Authentic Japanese Origin – Classic Culinary Grade (Smoothies, Lattes, Baking, Recipes) – Antioxidants, Energy [100g Value Size]

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What grade of Matcha is this, and how do I use it?

This is Culinary Grade Matcha, which is an affordable way to add a delicious, healthy boost to smoothies, lattes, baked goods, and other dishes.

What’s the difference between Culinary and Ceremonial grades?

Simple: Culinary grade is meant for mixing into recipes as an ingredient, while Ceremonial grade is meant to be prepared traditionally as a tea (just mixed with hot water and whisked). Culinary grade is more affordable for day to day use, making it easy to fit the health benefits of Matcha into your diet.

Does it contain caffeine?

Yes, each half-teaspoon (1g) serving contains roughly 34mg of caffeine, about 1/3 a cup of coffee. However, Matcha also contains L-Theanine, which has a calming and leveling affect, so it doesn’t make you feel jittery or wired like coffee does.

What are other health benefits?

– Boosts metabolism and helps burns calories
– Calms and relaxes you from stress or anxiety
– Rich in antioxidants (137x the amount in conventional green tea!)

Are there other use cases for Culinary Matcha?

Yes! Many of our customers make a healthy facial mask using our Culinary Grade, by mixing it with just a bit of water to form a paste.

Where does this Matcha come from?

Our Matcha is grown by Nagata Chaen, a single estate, organically focused family farm near the city of Uji in Kyoto, Japan.

  1. Small bag but looks are deceiving I was disappointed at first as it’s much smaller than expected, but looks can be deceiving. There’s a decent amount of powder in the bag. I’ve attached a picture of it next to a watch so you can see what you’re getting.I really like the taste and quality though. I’m not an expert, so I can’t tell you the difference between ceremonial grade or kitchen grade, but I do know this one tastes good as a latte. I mix a teaspoon of the powder with 1 tablespoon of hot water (not boiling water) to help it dissolve and then add 1 cup of hot milk. I use an electric baby formula mixer to get out any lumps (Munchkin has a decent one for about $7). You can also use an electric drink frother to mix it instead and it’ll also get the milk nice and frothy. I believe it’s also around $7 on Amazon. I chose to use the formula mixer since I already had one. And then I drizzle honey on top. It’s delicious. I’m trying to cut back on coffee so this is a great alternative and it’s…

  2. Mental Clarity & Focus I make a daily smoothie and put a tablespoon full of this powder in it. The first day I drank the smoothie, I recall thinking to myself later that afternoon, “Man, I just got a lot of stuff done. And boy, I was really able to engage and listen in that conversation. That was weird.”Day 2: “Man, I just got a lot of stuff done. This project suddenly makes sense and I’m not feeling overwhelmed. Boy, I was really able to engage and listen in that conversation. What have I done differently? OMG..it’s that Matcha!!”I bought a cheaper brand (Carrington) @ Walmart and had a smoothie over the weekend. I noticed no difference..back to being tired and unfocused. This morning, I returned back to this brand of Matcha and I have been banging out work. Highly focused. Things are making sense. High levels of mental clarity. I’m in love.THIS STUFF IS AMAZING!!

  3. Very good Product I have finished a baking test on Jade Leaf Matcha products and also compare their Classic and the Premium grade matcha. This test is based on making Matcha Red Beam Mousse (no bake), Matcha Fresh Cream Swiss Roll (cake making), and Matcha Snow Cap Char Siu Bao (Roast Pork Bum – Bread making). As you can see, this seller’s products comes out very green in the bread and pleasantly green in both the cake and the mousse. Comparing the Classic and the Premium grade, when first mixed with hot water, there is a distinct color difference as the Premium display a darker green (photo). However, after mixing with the batter or whip cream, the color different is minimal even you still can tell the slight different shade of greens.I did not notice any difference in both aroma and taste between the Premium and the Classic matcha after cooking.I did notice both grades of matcha do have unsolvable dark green tea particles after mixing with hot water and this is definitely for culinary…
