Fake, broke immediately. UPDATE: replaced! So disappointed, this broke after only 3 uses.Update: the manufacturer sent me a new one. Comparing the two, I definitely received a fake initially, even though it was fulfilled by Amazon prime. The real one does NOT have the Swiss flag on the front and DOES have ridges to keep the bar in place when crushing garlic. Comparison photos included.
Excellent Garlic Press I bought 3 of these. one to keep and two as gifts. After several years of using them, Iâm coming back for a review. This is one of the few products that stands the test of time. After 5 years of using this product, it continues to look the same as the first day I received it, and it gets used at least once per week if not more. One of the few products Iâve reviewed which is extremely solid. I tend not to review products within a few days of receiving, unless the product is faulty. I will not give a 5 stars after one month of use even if itâs a great product after a few weeks, and rather review after months of use. But this one I had forgotten to come back to it…and years later, itâs probably the best product Iâve purchased on Amazon that still works and looks the same as the day I bought it.The other two were given as gift to my mom and mother in law since the product was so good. They also love it and would highly recommend.
Impressive price, “meh” performance I’ve owned several garlic presses over the years. Some have worked better than others; none have ever “wowed” me. Eventually the presses I have owned in the past either gave up, or I got tired of their flaws. I saw an amazing review for this Kuhn Rikon press and decided to splurge. Well, meh. Its OK. It is well built and solid. I guess it would last a lifetime if one chose to use it for a lifetime.Note: I peel my garlic and cut off the hard root end. I did try this once with unpeeled garlic just to see if it would work (with and without root-end removed) – no joy.Pros:* Solidly built.* The tiny holes make a very fine pressed garlic.* The easy-clean feature doesnt make it “easy”, but does make it “less hard” to clean that some other presses.Cons:* Big and heavy – takes up more space in the drawer than other presses.* Lots of waste – garlic squishes up the sides and out the back of the presser…
