  1. Avoid this brand – it’s not all stainless steel I originally wrote a 5 star review because of how efficient these were at cutting through whole chickens – and they are! But after using these once, washing them and setting them on the drying rack last night I woke up to find that the rivets in them had rusted. Sorry, but why would you make kitchen shears with material that wasn’t stainless steel? I would stay away from this brand and find one that’s made out of more durable material. Very disappointed especially given the price.

  2. Wouldn’t be without them I have had two pairs of the smaller version of these snips for years — and I use them constantly to cut an enormous array of paper, wood, metal, plastic, rubber, cardboard etc. etc. The blades have stayed sharp despite constant use (and much cutting of wire!) and the locking mechanism is still working well. But since I mostly kept and used them in work areas, they tended to get dirty, and then I discovered that they are very handy in the kitchen as well. But when I wanted to use them for that, I’d have to bring them in and scrub them clean. So I decided to buy a third pair just for the kitchen, even though they are a bit pricey. And I decided to get the “large” size — and I’m glad I did because the extra length comes in handy when you’re dong things like cutting up chicken wings (and, yes, these cut right through small bones easily). Anyway, I think they’re great and wouldn’t be without them.

  3. Great kitchen or all-purpose shears We use them as kitchen shears. They cut well. You can quarter a chicken with them. You have to squeeze reasonably hard, but it definitely is doable. The design is such that I don’t think they will get loose the way a lot of kitchen shears do. Once shears get loose, even if they are sharp, they don’t cut well. The reason they don’t market these as kitchen shears is that they have a lot of nooks and crannies, so they are probably thinking that they are hard to clean in a good sanitary fashion. But we just stick them in the dishwasher and don’t worry about it. So far they are holding up well in the dishwasher. The lock works well. It is easy to lock and unlock and never seems to get in the way. (Some shears have annoying locks that constantly get in the way).
