Tata is Back!!!
United Name New Manager
Atlanta Latinos Magazine – It’s back to the future in Atlanta. On November 6th, Atlanta United announced that Tata Martino would be the club’s next manager. He was the first manager in the team’s history and led it to an MLS Cup title in 2018.
Martino signed a two-year contract that will go through the 2027 season. Most recently he coached Inter Miami from 2023 through 2024.
He looks to turn around a team that finished second to last in the Eastern Conference last year, winning just five matches out of thirty-four.
Martino’s previous Atlanta teams were known for playing an up-tempo, fast paced style with lots of scoring. He returns one familiar face in Miguel Almiron. However, his prior team captain, Brad Guzan, retired last year.
Regardless, Martino will try to restore Atlanta United back to its glory days.
Atlanta’s first match will be away at Cincinnati on February 21st.
