The new role gives someone the chance to create social media content while sampling menu items.

WASHINGTON — Want to get paid $100,000 to eat fast food? Wendy’s says it has the job for you. The fast food chain is offering fans a chance to get paid to try menu items, and the role comes with a six-figure salary.

The company announced a contest to select a “Chief Tasting Officer,” an independent contractor who will help create promotional content for the brand by sampling menu items and sharing reactions online.

According to the contest website, the role involves “bringing the vibes, taste and creativity” to Wendy’s marketing efforts, including filming taste-testing videos and appearing in promotional content.

“Whether its quarterly vlog check-ins, taste trending, or whatever, you’ll make cheddar just for liking cheddar,” the company said of the remote role.

The grand prize includes a contract paying $100,000, with the selected winner expected to produce videos, social media posts and other content for the company.

How to apply

The Wendy’s Chief Tasting Officer Contest began March 2 at 9 a.m. ET and runs through March 30 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

The contest is open to legal U.S. residents 18 or older, including residents of the District of Columbia, according to the official rules. Employees of Wendy’s and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate.

To enter, participants must submit a video up to 60 seconds long explaining why they should become Wendy’s Chief Tasting Officer.

Entries can be submitted three ways:

  • Instagram: Post a public video using the hashtag #WendysCTOContest and tagging @Wendys

  • TikTok: Post a public video using the hashtag #WendysCTOContest and tagging @Wendys

  • Website: Upload a video at wendyschieftastingofficer.com

A panel of judges will then select 10 finalists based on five categories; creativity, brand love, brand safety, personality and potential.

Wendy’s encourages applicants to include its food, restaurants or branding in their videos. Entries that do so will receive five additional points.

Finalists will then participate in interviews, which will be judged on execution, reach, uniqueness and willingness before the grand prize winner is selected.
