The U.S. is looking to defend their Olympic title in the team figure skating event after controversy surrounded the 2022 competition.
WASHINGTON — The U.S. is looking to make it back-to-back gold in the team figure skating event on Day 2 of the Winter Olympics in Italy.
Back in the states, it’s also Super Bowl Sunday — so there’s a lot of sports action on tap for Feb. 8.
Last Winter Games, the figure skating team event ended in controversy after news of Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva’s positive doping test surfaced. As a result, the Russian team was stripped of its Olympic title and the United States were declared champions.
