Officials say a handle component can detach when heated, with nearly 100 incidents reported.
WASHINGTON — Federal safety officials are urging consumers to stop using certain Granitestone sauté pans after reports that a component can detach and eject during use.
The recall covers about 740,000 Granitestone Diamond Pro Blue stainless steel sauté pans, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The affected products were sold as a two-piece set, including 10-inch and 11.5-inch pans.
Officials said the metal cap on the screw connecting the pan to the handle can become detached and forcefully eject when heated, posing both impact and burn hazards.
The importer, E Mishan & Sons Inc. of New York, is aware of at least 98 incidents involving the issue. That includes one report of a consumer suffering bruising and burn injuries.
The pans were sold at Costco stores and online through Costco, Walmart and Amazon between August 2021 and February 2026 for about $40.
Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled pans immediately and contact the company for a full refund. Customers will be required to return the product as part of the recall process.
