WOODSTOCK, Ga. — Someone in Woodstock is a few million dollars richer, and they probably aren’t shouting it from the rooftops.
A winning Georgia Lottery scratch-off ticket worth $2.5 million was sold at West Mart on Hickory Flat Highway, sparking excitement in the community. While the prize was claimed last month, Georgia Lottery officials recently stopped by the store with a ceremonial check to celebrate the life-changing win.
Lottery officials said every ticket sold also helps fund education programs across the state, adding an extra layer of impact to the big payout.
