A live-action “Dungeon Crawler Carl” TV series is in development at Peacock, according to reports.
WASHINGTON — The popular LitRPG series “Dungeon Crawler Carl” is getting a live-action television adaptation, with Seth MacFarlane and Chris Yost set to produce, Variety reported.
The TV series is in development at Peacock. MacFarlane’s Fuzzy Door will executive produce the show, and Yost will write and executive produce. The series was originally acquired by Universal International Studios in 2025.
There are seven books in the New York Times best-selling series by Matt Dinniman, with an eighth installment set for release in May. The series follows Coast Guard vet Carl and his ex-girlfriend’s cat, Princess Donut, as they try to survive an alien invasion and a sadistic intergalactic game show.
Yost is known for writing Marvel’s “Thor: Ragnarok” and episodes of “The Mandalorian” and “Star Wars: The Bad Batch.” He created the 2021 Netflix live-action adaptation of “Cowboy Bebop.”
MacFarlane is a writer, actor and producer whose credits include “Family Guy,” “American Dad,” “Ted” and “The Orville.”
