‘I hope Lady Gaga delivers the check in her meat dress’: Singer donates $100K to Atlanta nonprofit

ATLANTA — The mother of mayhem, Lady Gaga, did more than put on a show for her “Little Monsters.” She also gave back in a big way — donating $100,000 to an Atlanta nonprofit that supports students and families facing challenges.

The donation went to COR Inc., a nonprofit that provides resources to trauma-impacted students and families who have been marginalized by poverty and race-based educational inequities.

Executive Director Jennifer Henn says the organization was thrilled to receive the gift.

“I’m hoping Lady Gaga shows up in her amazing meat dress and fabulous high heels and delivers our $100,000 check personally.”

Henn says the money will help support key programs that directly impact families in need.

“The majority of that money will be used to pay our social workers’ salaries, and the funding also goes to helping our parents with resources, like if they’re behind on rent or utilities.”

COR Inc. provides free resources to families, including food, clothing and therapy sessions with social workers for students.

Henn says the impact of those services can already be seen in the students they serve.

“The results are our students feel more confident. That our students know how to advocate for themselves. Our students know how to recognize when they’re not feeling well from a mental health perspective.”

With the new funding, Henn says the nonprofit hopes to expand its impact and continue creating a safe space for students and families who need it most. The donation, she says, will help the organization overcome some of its financial hurdles — almost like magic.
