WASHINGTON — A new collaboration between Snack Pack and Dr Pepper is bringing one of America’s most recognizable soda flavors into an unexpected category: shelf-stable gelatin snacks.
Snack Pack describes the gels as “perfect when you need a quick and easy dessert or tasty treat.” They do not need to be refrigerated. “These Juicy Gels snack cups make convenient snacks or anytime desserts.”
The packs are gluten-free, contain no high-fructose corn syrup and are shelf-stable, according to the website. The cups are sold in multipacks and will soon be found in stores.
When trying to purchase online, the website reads “This item is no longer available for online purchase but you can go to the store closest to you.”
Early online reactions have been mixed, with some consumers expressing curiosity and others skepticism about the concept, like many other recent collaborations with the soda brand.
“I’m going to dip my Dr. Pepper sausages in it and then after that I’m going to have a Dr. Pepper tic tac peppered throughout my Dr pepper dippin’ dots. For science,” one commenter wrote on a social media post teasing the new snack.
The brand has also collaborated to make Dr Pepper flavored freeze pops, soda-flavored Blue Bell ice cream and more.
“I can confirm these are Good and Nice with a true Dr Pepper taste!” one snack tester wrote on social media.
Snack Pack has previously collaborated with soda brands, like Crush, to make flavored gels and puddings.
