* * A Great Baking Blend * *Naturally Sweet & Naturally Loved * * In my opinion Erythritol is the best of the Zero Glycemic Index Sweeteners and I really like the Now Foods brand.. I couldnât take all the bloating and gas I got from most of the cakes, cookies and ice creams sold commercially with the artificial sweeteners they were adding.. Theyâre full of Xylitol, Sorbitol, etc, that work on the gastrointestinal tract. Sure they donât have calories, but you pay for it in other ways. That tradeoff, isnât good for your health. I only use two sweeteners now for everything and thatâs pure Stevia & Erythritol. They both have their advantages and disadvantages, but I find with my diabetes they work the best for keeping me Healthy and my A1Câs in checkErythritol does cloud, when you first mix into opaque liquids, but clears up quickly. For most of my baking I mix Erythritol with Stevia. You have to kind of experiment, to find the blend you like. I think they actually sell a blend of that, but Iâm sure itâs much cheaper to…
Great combined with Stevia If you’re just stepping over to Erythritol after trying to get away from Aspartame (yeah, it really is bad for us, like really bad) you’re going to have a hard time feeling like this does anything. It takes time avoiding all artificial sweeteners and even natural ones before your taste buds become sensitive enough to pick up on its sweet profile. I won’t go so far as to say a 60-90 day sabbatical of sweet will suddenly transform this to as sweet as sugar, but you will notice a definite sweetness from it.That said, i would suggest mixing it with a bit of Stevia, preferably in liquid form, to raise the sweet profile. Some might decide that’s too much trouble or not practical, but for my personal taste what I have discovered is that Stevia by itself leaves a very unpleasant aftertaste, but when I mix it with Erythritol I get not only the level of sweet I want, but it cancels Stevia’s aftertaste. Plus, it takes very little Stevia to raise the sweet taste of…
Amazing sugar substitute!!! Let me just lay this out:I hate “fake sugar.”Splenda is gross. Those little pink packets of sugar substitute at restaurants, give me migraines of the worst kind. All diet pop is super disgusting. I don’t like the “sugar free” candy junk they sell near the pharmacy for diabetics. It is all c*r*a*pBut- this was actually good! I won’t lie, not nearly as sweet as white sugar, but it doesn’t leave a gross after taste. It even works well for baking. The only odd thing for me to say about it is, it oddly cools your mouth off as you eat. Imagine a slight menthol feel with zero of the menthe taste. If the price was just slightly lower, I would give it 5 stars.
